As someone not far from the Oregon coast and thinking of moving even closer, I’ll take my chances with geologic time (and running for high ground if I see the ocean pull back) over sustained crazy weather and droughts in the southwest, midwest, south, southeast or mid-atlantic states any day… Did you see the picture of the cattle the Texas farmers were being forced to sell because of the drought? They looked like cattle in Africa usually look with their bones sticking out. Next come the food price hikes, while the Pacific NW has the best growing conditions in the world, ample rain and sunshine and fertile land.

Signalfire, I agree, one must follow their own Intuitive knowingness about heading for the hills or staying in place. From a practical sense , I would find it a laborious task to move within 50 days. I will call my father often and tell him I love him everytime. He doesn’t want to hear any doomy predictions and in fact wants me to move up to Oregon.
